Western Everglades Restoration Project (WERP) - CR-835 Panther Crossing
Description: The proposed panther crossing along County Road (CR) 835 lies within the Western Everglades Restoration Project (WERP) area, which encompasses a mosaic of habitats critical to Florida panther movement. Wildlife movement across CR-835 is a significant concern due to documented panther dispersal patterns and high rates of vehicular mortality.

Earthology recommends the installation of a wildlife crossing in this focus area to connect tracts of habitat to allow safe passage of the endangered Florida panther and strengthen connectivity within the Florida Wildlife Corridor. Project work includes surveying, site review, Stakeholder coordination, QA/QC, documentation, etc.

The final crossing will be coordinated with stakeholders such as Hendry County, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, as well as other relevant stakeholder groups.
