As North America’s fall migration slows down and the holidays approach, Give Miami Day is gearing up to give back! Give Miami Day this year starts on November 20th, 2025 this year for 24 hours, with early donations being accepted from November 15th to the 19th. This year, there are many great organizations to donate to, many that are focused on working for the conservation and betterment of our environment.
This year, Earthology employee Alyssa Cavanaugh spent time volunteering for the Cape Florida Banding Station again for a second year in a row for Fall 2025 Migration. The Cape Florida Banding Station is looking for $5,000 in donations to replace broken equipment and for training new volunteers. This non-profit scientific banding station has been contributing to songbird research since 2002 and are looking to train the next generation of bird banders to continue helping birds through research and education. Each year, the stakes for migrating birds continue to rise, and all data collected contributes to better understanding the challenges these vulnerable birds face.
